Specimen Requirements
Sample of vaginal secretion obtained with Amnisure® swab. Place swab in vial, which is contained in the collection kit, and mix swab in vial for one minute. Discard the swab. Maintain sterility and forward the vial promptly at ambient temperature.
Methodology
The AmniSure® ROM (Rupture of [fetal] Membranes) Test is a rapid, non-instrumented, qualitative immunochromatographic test for the detection of amniotic fluid in vaginal secretions of pregnant patients who report signs, symptoms or complaints suggestive of rupture of membranes. AmniSure detects PAMG-1 (placental alpha microglobulin -1) protein marker of the amniotic fluid in vaginal secretions.
